In covering MUSD Board meetings for the Record-Bee, I realized that my experience could be of help to the board and the leadership team. I am deeply familiar with the challenges of delivering educational excellence in the absence of adequate funding. I can help the board in the search for new sources of revenue, making sure that each dollar improves the classroom experience of our students. I am a life-long advocate for the arts in education.
Before moving to Hidden Valley Lake in 2022, I worked in higher education for over 30 years. I created schools and programs with and without funding, taught thousands of students from around the world and wrote curriculum. I hired and managed faculty and staff while building multi-million dollar facilities with high tech infrastructure. I worked with architects, engineers, contractors and software architects. I managed discretionary budgets and raised millions of dollars in donations from corporations, individuals and government sources.
I was the founding Director of the Colorado Film School, recognized as a top film school by The Hollywood Reporter, Variety, ICG Magazine and Backstage. I was also the founding Director & Professor of the School of Film & Media Arts at Cleveland State University. I received my BA in Philosophy and MFA in Film from Columbia University.
